Description | Safe operation is the key priority in performing flight tests. Test Pilots and Lead Flight Test Engineers for category 2 flight tests (CAT 2) operate as part of a flight test crew and take a directive role in flight tests. The responsible position of a TP or LFTE requires profound knowledge and proven competencies. This professional course is primarily addressed to personell, who will take the position of a TP or a LFTE CAT 2 for rotary wing aircraft in a design, production, test or certification organization. Beyond demonstrating individual competencies as per EASA Part-FCL / Part-21 training objectives, course participants will:
In-flight training for TP/LFTE will include a total flight time of approximately 50/30 flight hours on a variety of single and multi engine helicopters and numerous hours of individual training in full flight simulators. Students will be evaluated through examinations on all of the theoretical subjects and will prepare oral and written flight test reports. Upon completion of the syllabus students will evaluate an unknown aircraft within a final project. Furthermore instructors will continuously assess the student’s individual skills.
