Advanced UPRT

Following a series of fatal accidents involving loss of control, EASA introduced a new legislation in 2019. It requires the completion of an “Advanced Upset Prevention and Recovery Training” in accordance with FCL.945.A at an Approved Training Organization (ATO) for specific personell. Advanced UPRT is part of an integrated ATP course and of an integrated MPL course.

UPRT is required for…

  • single-pilot class or type ratings operated in multi-pilot operations
  • single-pilot high performance complex aeroplances
  • multi-pilot aeroplanes

Pre-requisites

  • valid medical
  • LAPL(A) or PPL(A) or CPL(A) or MPL(A)

Training Course

  • EFT offers a Premium UPRT course, which means theoretical and practical lessons go beyond the FLC.745A requirements. Students will take a deep look into flight physics and aerodynamics during UPRT manoevers and get more inflight time by highly experienced senior instructors.
  • 9 hours of theoretical instruction (+4 hrs compared to FCL.745A requirements)
  • 4.5 hours of dual flight instruction in an aeroplane (+1,5 hrs compared to FCL.745A requirements). EFT uses following aeroplanes
    • AS202 Bravo NG: aerobatic aircraft with side-by-side cockpit, ideal for multi-crew training
    • EXTRA 330 LX: aerobatic high-performance aircraft with tandem cockpit
    • L-39 (perspectively): high-performance military jet trainer
  • Theoretical and practical training contents:
    • Low Speed / High Speed Flight Attitudes and Flight Characteristics
    • Level / Turning / Accelerated Stalls in different Configurations
    • Buffeting
    • Altitude Loss
    • Spiral Dives
    • Incipient Spins
    • Recovery Procedures
    • Flight Physics and Aerodynamics during UPRT manoevers

The course consists of 1.5 days of academics + 2 days of flight training.

After course completion you will get a certificate.
